A Jeff Jones value study, not for SOW.

WIP for SOW.

I think I will just leave this as it is. I think it was maybe ten or twenty minutes, if I continue it will just get closer to a photo which is what I am trying to avoid. Silhouettes.

Okay it works now.

A couple speeds and a process. I'm now trying to get a more digital looking paint style, its something I don't do often. Also some process for the above, kinda silly as I only use one layer. There is that huge jump where I chisel an sculpt the shapes and then a few details, oh well.

A few more speed landscapes and a new style of painting I am working on. Basically it is practice for value and speed but in a palatable form. I hope it works.

Practicing environments and landscapes, I have to get faster.

Just a little anatomy while I am stuck in bed.

The official illustration for the Shar. This is a new style for me, it's funny how it changes in every image. Watch me progress.

Speed paintings as fast as possible. I have tried to limit myself to accepting the first line that goes down, no recovery from petting, no color adjustment. It hurts. KRS-ONE said in an interview that every year he writes a battle rhyme for the the top ten artists of Billboard. It's all about conquering the Crippling Fear, the only way to do that is to fail every day.

Well, this was posted semi-officially so I guess it can go here. I'm trying to figure out this new race, slightly feral but still human, lots of tattoos and crazy haircuts. Property of SoW.

Some more relaxing head and pose. I am feeling this sort of line/value hybrid in digital, forehead strokes are my new negative space hair experiments.

An old graphite, 2003 I think.

A quick speedpaint, basically I give myself one chance at value and hue then just go with it. No noodling, no overworking, usually no linework. I cheated on that bit a little. Maybe I should try combining the two?

This has something to do with airships. Hopefully I can model something like that efficiently, we'll see.
